I Like iPhone

I got an email from an employee claiming to have one of this most highly promoted gadget from Apple, so I hurried over to his desk to try it out for myself.

First impressions? Well it doesn’t do anything drastically new, the innovation is how you do stuff with it. And if watching the ads is pleasant, actually using it is euphoric.

Finding a contact

Here’s how scrolling works — instead of hammering away at up/down buttons on your regular phone, you just “brush” your finger along the screen and the list scrolls smoothly and briskly.

Writing a text-message

About the pop-up keyboard – people were worried that the keys might be too small, but I’m glad to say that’s not the case. It seems to have a “mystical” ability to know which key I pressed. Failing that, an auto-correct feature cleans up (works better than MS Word).

Oh and you can write notes too. And flip through them almost like a regular notebook.

iPod

The iPhone is actually a new and improved iPod. Bigger display for a start. And I find it easier to “brush” through a list of songs or an array of album covers (looks like an actual shelf of CD cases) than using the scroll wheel.

Well… that’s basically my first impressions of iPhone. Pics to follow.

PS. Status update: I’ve recently started working at NineMSN.
